Ms. Hopper has served as CFO at multiple companies with experience in equity and debt recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring.

She is focused on achieving long-term growth and financial stability for companies, as well as helping companies reach their full potential in terms of accounting compliance and financial reporting. In addition to her time in financial advisory, she has spent over fifteen years in public accounting and small to mid-size private companies primarily centered around the Oil & Gas Exploration and Production, Oil & Gas Services, Manufacturing, and Technology industries.

Melissa’s exposure to and management of accounting, finance, insurance, IT, payroll, and HR makes her experience invaluable when she is working with clients. Her breadth of knowledge spans from transactional processing and payroll time sheets to board meeting presentations and financing negotiations. This helps her understand a client’s concerns in all facets and all levels of the business. She has worked as CFO for a start-up venture capital backed technology company and a venture capital backed Oil & Gas services company where she focused on cost management and growth. She was one of five founding employees responsible for the creation of a private equity backed Oil & Gas Services company that grew to 100 employees in twelve months. She has managed 5 entities through a Chapter 11 restructuring, which ultimately resulted in a successful acquisition, while serving as Controller. And in her position as director of financial reporting, she served as the internal point person for a $500M recapitalization. She also has intimate knowledge of how to utilize and manipulate accounting software products to produce concise and effective reports.

Melissa spent time as an Inspector for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, where she was responsible assessing audit firms’ compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, assessing and ranking issuers in terms of risk and analyzing and interpreting new Auditing Standards. She also has worked in public accounting for a mid-sized accounting firm, managing engagements for several of their SEC clients as well as larger private companies.
