Mr. Gibbins is responsible for leading the execution of financing, sale, and financial advisory assignments, including review and analysis of the client’s business, preparation of marketing materials, managing contacts and dialogue with prospective investors and buyers, and oversight of documentation leading to closing. He has had substantial experience in debt and equity capital investments, in investment monitoring and management, and in a number of industry sectors including oil and gas. With a long history in the Houston energy market, his insightful analysis has led to the success of many transactions.
Prior to joining Chiron Financial Group, Mr. Gibbins was an Analyst in the Reserve Based Finance department of Societe Generale. He was responsible for the underwriting and monitoring of a portfolio of 15+ upstream oil and gas clients (sub -investment grade to lower tier investment grade, both public and private), representing over $700MM in exposure to the bank. He also structured and evaluated commitment levels to corporate debt products as part of transactions such as mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, and general corporate functions.
He began his career at Citigroup, Inc. as a Global Commodities Trading Analyst, tracking and analyzing oil and gas industry data. There he led a team of analysts in designing a model to predict the effects of new emissions rules on the natural gas and power markets. He then spent a number of years at Macquarie Group Limited, most recently as a Senior Credit Analyst, and as the bank’s primary credit analyst for their lending facilities across various industries including retail power and gas suppliers, merchant power generators, and E&Ps, among others.
