Jay H. Krasoff, Managing Director
One of the Firm’s founders, Jay Krasoff is responsible
for its strategic direction and the marketing of its banking and
private equity investments. During his tenure he has led
assignments that include sell-side and buy-side advisories, valuation
opinions, and acquisition and growth financing for clients in
the oil and gas, real estate, consumer products, and building
products industries.
Mr. Krasoff also has an active financial restructuring practice in company/debtor
management and for distressed debt holders, secured creditors and committees.
He has represented clients in the fields of upstream and downstream energy, real
estate, energy service, environmental, building products, health care, and consumer
products.
Chiron Financial Advisors, L.L.C.'s diverse client base includes KT Energy Holdings
(Upstream Energy), Spirit Drilling Fluids (Energy Service),
Chevron (Downstream Energy), Renata Resort (Real Estate),
Evans Industries (Manufacturing/Energy Service), Doctor’s
Hospital (Health Care) and Garden Ridge (Retail). Some of
Mr. Krasoff's representative Chiron Equities acquisitions
include a 460 unit multi-family apartment community, a specialty
food products company, oil and gas exploration companies,
and an aggregate and ready mix company.
Mr. Krasoff began his career
at KPMG in 1979. After attending graduate school, he spent
15 years in the real estate development business where he
acted with several principals in developing over $300 million
in apartments and other commercial real estate. Mr.
Krasoff has significant experience in capital market transactions
and diverse financings, including the issuance of bonds
and private placement of both debt and equity with leading
financial institutions. While in the real estate investment
business he led many assignments in the restructuring of
debt and equity instruments.
Prior to co-founding Chiron Financial Advisors, L.L.C., Mr. Krasoff was CFO of Texas
Gypsum Industries, Inc., where he managed capital markets
and general financial matters and was involved in creative
opportunities of purchasing distressed debt.
Mr. Krasoff serves on the
board of various private owned equity companies in the oil
and gas and building products industries. He is a member
of Financial Executives International (FEI), Association
for Corporate Growth (ACG), Turnaround Management (TMA),
American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), and other capital markets
networks. Mr. Krasoff is a Member of the Board of Directors
for the Houston Chapter(s) of both Financial Executives
International and the Association for Corporate Growth,
and is Chair of the Membership Committee for the Houston
FEI.
Mr. Krasoff received a Bachelor of Business Administration
Degree (with Honors) in Accounting from the University of
Texas at Austin in 1979, and attended the Graduate School
of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He
previously practiced as a Certified Public Accountant.
