Origin of our Name
When choosing a name for our company we wanted one that represents
wisdom, strength and the ability to renew or heal.
In Greek mythology, Chiron was the most respected and revered
of all centaurs—immortal creatures who were half man-half
horse.
Most centaurs were vulgar, self-indulgent and prone to violence
when intoxicated, which was often. By contrast, Chiron was
intelligent, ethical and unsurpassed in his sense of justice. He
shunned the use of weapons, choosing instead to become a physician
and teacher. Among his many students were Achilles, Jason
and Hercules. Centaurs, humans and gods all held him in
the highest regard. |
